Background

Maia Beyrouti is a French/Palestinian artist living and working in Berlin. She was born in Paris, grew up in the South of France and moved to London as a teen in the 1990s. There, she studied at Chelsea, Camberwell College of Arts and Crafts, and LCC. Her multi-disciplinary work includes painting, spoken word, non-linear narratives and ceramics. In 2016 she set up Moïo Studio, a ceramic studio where she explores her relationship to objects, including sculptures, installations, and the creation of collections that bridge art, craft, and design. Interested in the overlap – the conversation from the map to the territory and back again. Breaking things down re-assembling them.
